General
Focusrite's Scarlett 4i4 is a USB audio interface with four inputs and outputs. Like its siblings, it now also has the 'Air' mode found on the Clarett series. That brings even more clarity to vocals as well as acoustic and electric guitars and basses.The 'Air' effect was also found on Focusrite' original ISA microphone preamp that quickly became popular in studios all over the world thanks to its fantastic performance. The 24-bit / 192 kHz AD/DA converters guarantee professional audio quality too. Two balanced instrument inputs on the front offer plenty of headroom so that even loud signals don't clip easily. This means you can get lots of dynamics into your mix and the LED rings around the gain knobs make it easy to monitor the incoming signal. There are two line level inputs on the back as well as a 'virtual loopback' that makes it easy to stream and record podcasts and stereo feeds, for instance.
For the Mobile Musician
The 4i4 is bus powered, which makes it truly portable because you don't need an external power adapter. You also get a comprehensive software bundle that includes DAW software in the form of Ableton Live Lite as well as the Focusrite Red 2 & Red 3 Plug-in Suite that you can use for compression and equalizing. You also get to choose a virtual instrument from XLN Audio's Addictive Keys software so that you can add a piano part to your songs. Softube's Time & Tone Bundle allows you to add reverb, saturation, compression and tube delay to your mix as well. You also get a 3-month subscription to the huge collection of loops and samples available at Splice Sounds. Lastly, there's Focusrite's Plug-in Collective that gives you access to discounts, software updates and popular plug-ins for free! In short: everything you need to make polished, professional productions.

Indien je een interface zoekt, dan is dit een no-brainer. Stevig behuisd, ziet er nog goed uit ook. Misschien niet de goedkoopste, maar elke euro dubbel waard. Ik heb mij ook laten bedotten met iets goedkoops en die was na drie maand al defect. Niet twijfelen.

Ik vind wel dat de Focusrite Control-software wat duidelijker had gemogen, en liefst had ik softwarematige knoppen voor
de weggevallen fysieke knoppen voor de Direct Monitor gezien. Ik werk met Reason Suite 11 op een Mac, en meestal is het niet nodig om de software op te starten, maar soms toch wel.... Momenteel zijn er geen gidsen voor Reason beschikbaar bij Focusrite. De handleiding lezen en wat zoeken op Youtube was/is alvast (voor mij toch) wel noodzakelijk.
En zoals altijd ook een snelle levering en top service van Bax Music !!!!!
