General

DiMarzio's Twang King is a single coil element. This pickup is inspired by the elements found in old Broadcaster and Telecaster guitars. The Twang King is designed to replace the neck element in Telecaster-style guitars, but you can also place this pickup in a Stratocaster model.

Own sound

Although DiMarzio's Twang King is inspired by certain vintage models, they did put their own spin on it. Larry DiMarzio was not satisfied with the sound of vintage pickups, so he designed the Twang King. The pickup has a wide dynamic range, so you can have a clean tone with a soft touch and the sound breaks open when you play with a harder touch.

Wrote the following about DiMarzio DP172C Twang King pickup

Dit element gekocht ter vervanging van het halselement van mijn Squier Standard Telecaster, die klonk voor mij te donker/dof. Deze DiMarzio haalt alles mooi op. Helder, zonder te schel te worden. Ook goed te gebruiken voor solo's. Reageert heel dynamisch op de aanslag.

Wrote the following about DiMarzio DP172C Twang King pickup

Mexican Nashville Telecaster gekocht bij Keymusic Den Haag. Bij het kopen van gitaren wil ik toch liever horen en voelen hoe een instrument speelt en dat was zeer goed. Het geluid van het hals element was gewoon niet goed. De bekende telecaster twang ontbrak volledig met het standaard hals element. De bridge en middle heb ik laten zitten en de neck pickup dus vervangen door de DP-172. Dit is echt de beste upgrade die ik heb gedaan. De gitaar klinkt als nooit tevoren. Ik heb een push pull gemonteerd om de optie neck en bridge samen in te schakelen en de bekende middenstand van de tele was helemaal wat hij moest zijn. Ik kan iedereen van harte aanbevelen om minimaal de neck pickup te vervangen door een dimarzio dp-172.
Levering ging prima en de pickup was op voorraad.
