Contrary to what is stated on the packaging, this is a linear (linear taper) potentiometer.
Linear pot meters are generally used as tone controls, whereas logarithmic pot meters are commonly used as volume controls.
Please note: This potentiometer has a metric (coarse) shaft with 18 teeth (knurling) and is only compatible with metric pot covers. These pot covers can be found on models like those made in Japan, China, Korea and Indonesia. For American made pot covers, it's best to use potentiometers made by companies like Fender or CTS.
