A steel slide helps you create a bright, clear tone. Steel slides are heavier than glass or brass slides and are therefore easier to press onto the fretboard to produce longer sustain. This type of slide is often used in the more aggressive styles of music. The Fender FCSS1 steel slide is 1.5 mm thick and 60 mm long and has a medium inner diameter of 19 millimetres.
