General
The SN-5 is Snark's simplest (and therefore cheapest) clip-on tuner. Its siblings may have more functions - such as a built-in metronome - but if you don't need these things, the SN-5 is an excellent choice. It uses a very sensitive piezo pickup that registers the vibrations of your instrument, allowing you to use it in noisy environments without problems. Additionally, the SN-5 is a chromatic tuner. Together with the wide frequency range, this makes it suitable for guitar, bass and violin, as well as alternate tunings.
Attaching and display
Snark tuners feature a Stay Put clamp that makes sure it stays in place while you're playing. As the display can be rotated 360 degrees, you can place it on the front or on the back of the headstock, making the SN-5 suitable for both left and right-handed players. The full-colour display is clearly backlit so you can also use it on dark stages or by the camp fire. To make sure that the SN-5 is safe during transport, it comes in a practical bag.

Wel jammer dat je er pas na aankoop via de handleiding achter komt dat het gebruik ervan op sommige instrumenten door de fabrikant wordt afgeraden, omdat afhankelijk van de afwerking het klemmetje het instrument kan beschadigen. Hoewel niet van toepassing voor mij had ik dat liever voor aankoop geweten.
Letterlijk:
"Snark advises not to use its tuner with any instruments having these types of finishes: Nitrocellulose Lacquer, Polyurethane, French polish, Oil finish or Gibson guitars which have nitrocellulose finishes unless you accept the risk of dents to the headstock"
