General
The H14R.2 by Led Lenser is a splash-proof, high-power head lamp with a rechargeable battery. On its front, there's a Cree LED module that is capable of producing up to 850 lumens at a range of a massive 300 metres. You can switch between the three light levels (low, high, boost) via the front switch, which is also the on/off switch. Additionally, you can adjust the beam from narrow to wide via the Advanced Focus System, which is great if a peculiar sound draws your attention in the dark. The Led Lenser H14R.2 is great for climbing, (cave) exploring, and jobs that require both your hands.
Rechargeable battery
The battery that powers the LED module of the Led Lenser H14R.2 is in the battery compartment on the back of your head. You can charge the battery through the included cord, which is connected via mini USB. The advantage of this special system is that you can charge the H14R.2 on many location - anywhere with a socket or USB port will do. The light on the battery compartment, making you visible to those behind you changes colour while charging, going from red to yellow to green when the battery is fully charged.
Programs and functions
Led Lenser's Smart Light Technology allows you to choose from a variety of programs and functions on the H14R.2. Blink is a program that flashes short bursts of light, like SOS, which does so in sequences of three short, three long and three short bursts. Defence Strobe increases the frequency of the flashes to disorient opponents, a tactic that is also employed by the American army. The H14R.2's functions entail a manual Morse, a manual dimmer, a power-saving setting, a short bright light and a continuous one.
