DW Drums SM9213 Incremental Hi-Hat Clutch

Suppose you like to play with a double bass pedal, but you want to be able to adjust the 'density' (or openness) of your hi-hat or second hi-hat pair precisely, this often poses a small problem. A normal clutch is extremely awkward to adjust quickly, and it is virtually impossible to do this while playing. You quickly end up with a drop-clutch, but often these cannot be set very precisely, unless you go into the higher price segment. A nice middle ground is then this DW SM9213 clutch.

The advantage of this DW hi-hat clutch over a regular hi-hat clutch and (most) drop-clutches is that you can adjust it stepwise. By means of the black 'lever' you lower or raise your upper hi-hat cymbal stepwise. Less fast than a drop-clutch of course, but because you only have to make one movement with the lever, you can quickly and easily set that precise hi-hat 'sweet-spot' while playing!
