Upon hearing the name Garritan, the first thing that comes to your mind is probably their famous orchestral library. Here, however, Garritan offers up a completely different but just as highly intriguing pack of more than 350 virtual instruments: the World Instruments Collection. All of the included samples are played by the ARIA engine, which not only supports western scales, but hundreds of less common yet equally useful keys and tunings from all over the world.

From Europe to Latin-America and from Australia to the Middle-East, every corner of the world is musically-represented in the World Instruments Collection. That means that next to more popular instruments, you're also getting instruments like the African bougarabou, the Chinese Suona, the Indian Pakhawaj and the Japanese Tebyoshi!

The ARIA Engine

All of the samples are played via the ARIA engine, which has also been loaded into a lot of Garritan's other sample packs and has been developed to take a load off your computer's CPU. Also, since it supports VST, RTAS and AU formats, the ARIA player can be seamlessly integrated into any digital studio set-up or used as a stand-alone player.
