General

A lap steel guitar, also known as a slide guitar, is a guitar that you lay flat on your lap or on a stand. An example is the Gold Tone GT-Weissenborn, made after Herman Weissenborn's original design. The sound box of this slide guitar extends into the neck, giving a sound that only this model has. The body and "neck" are made of sapele wood, providing a nice all-round sound with a subtle brightness. Combined with the binding made of cream-coloured ABS and a walnut fingerboard, it also looks very good.

Tips or comments about this product
  • Do not put too much tension on the strings, as this can damage the instrument considerably due to its construction. The strings supplied are only suitable for DGDGBD and DADF#AD tuning. Gold Tone recommends putting no more than 75kg of tension on the strings.
