The generously affordable BM-1000 microphone kits out any fledgling singer-songwriter, producer, podcaster, or content creator with a flexible studio-grade tool. This microphone can be set up to perform in both dynamic or condenser mode.

The Devine BM-1000

By unscrewing the housing, access is granted to the clever internal switch that can be flipped to activate condenser mode. In condenser mode, the microphone will need to be hooked up to a device that's able to feed it with phantom power, but since most mixers and audio interfaces come with this function built in, this shouldn't be too much of a problem. The benefit of using the BM-1000 as a condenser for recording is that it's able to capture audio with enhanced sensitivity, resulting in rich dynamics and exacting detail - perfect for laying down vocals and acoustic instruments.

Uses

While condenser mode is perfect for producing highly detailed recordings, in dynamic mode, this microphone can be directly connected to the mic input of a computer without the need for any external power source, and since this mode is much less sensitive, it's far more effective at isolating speech for podcasting or other speech-based performances. This comprehensive microphone comes complete with a contact-noise-reducing shockmount and a pop-filter.

• Please note: This microphone comes with a 5V dynamic mode and a 48V condenser mode. The mode is selected via an internal switch fitted on the PCB. In 5V dynamic mode, this microphone can be connected directly to a computer using the included XLR to mini-jack cable. In 48V condenser mode, this microphone will require 48V phantom power to function.
• It is possible that in 5V dynamic mode, this microphone is not compatible with the combi inputs/outputs (TRRS) fitted to some specific computers, laptops, or mobile devices. To connect the BM-1000 to such devices, a Rode SC4 connecting cable will also be required.
