Product information

General

Sire and Larry Carlton jointly present the S3L. This left-handed ST-style electric solidbody is not only exceptionally affordable, but also offers you, as a lefty guitarist, exceptionally good value for money in terms of sound, feel and features. The C-shaped neck is made of hard maple wood and also features a rosewood fretboard, which is a pleasantly familiar combination for this. By the way, this fretboard is specially rounded on the sides for ultimate unprecedented playing comfort within this price segment. This has been done via a special process dubbed Edgeless by Sire. The 22 pieces of 2.7-millimetre medium jumbo frets offer your left hand a lot of playing comfort at the same time, while with your pick hand you can, for instance, add a vibrato effect here and there with the modern 2-point tremolo body.

Larry Carlton S3L: warmer basic sound incredibly wide and clear out of the way

For the left-handed neck's solidly bolt-on ST-style body, however, Larry Carlton has opted for the warmer-sounding mahogany, to which the other woods in turn add a sweetish definition. This ensures that not only can you enjoy the pleasant curves of the classically shaped guitar body, but that this Sire S3 also possesses a pleasingly lighter weight. When amplified, you have an incredibly wide palette of guitar sounds at your disposal with the Standard-ST Pickup Set with its HSS configuration and the 5-position switch. Yet the electronics remain nice and uncluttered thanks to the single potentiometers for volume and tone. This makes this gutsy-handed Larry Carlton not only a first-class guitar to start on, but also an excellent 6-string for at least the advanced LH guitarist.
