General
Even though original left-handed Fender guitars from the fifties are hard to come by, Fender offers you the chance to own the next best thing with the lefty editions of legendary classics. A perfect example is this '52 Telecaster Reissue from the 2012 American Vintage series. This model has been redesigned from top to bottom. Fender accurately copied the authentic specifications and details from several original vintage guitars. This makes this reissue of the 1952 more accurate than it ever was before. This left-handed Tele comes with a (also reissued) vintage-style tweed case and replica case candy. It truly is a vintage-correct reproduction!
Authentic styling of the American Vintage '52 Telecaster LH
This left-handed 2012 Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster features a first-class, beautifully grained ash body with an authentic light Butterscotch Blonde lacquer finish. The U-shaped neck is made of a single piece of maple and features rolled fretboard edges for extra comfortable playing. Both the body and the neck have received Fender's new Flash Coat finish, which consists of a thin nitrocellulose lacquer for improved tone and resonance. Its volute was adapted, and so was the spacing between the machine heads. Other vintage-accurate details include a barrel-style pickup-switch knob, a vintage-style bridge with three brass saddles and a Bakelite-style single-layer black pickguard with five-screw mounting. They even used the right type of dome-head slot screws.
Specially voiced pickups
This left-handed edition of the 2012 American Vintage '52 Telecaster is equipped with renewed pickups that were wound and voiced by the specifications and sound of several original ones. These pickups give this guitar its famous, clear Tele sound that is known and loved by many guitarists in genres that range from country to rock. To adjust the sound, the '52 Tele is equipped with a master volume and master tone control, and the latter one offers you the possibility to filter out the frequencies, creating a sound that is less bright. Lastly there's the three-way pickup switch that allows you to alternate between the biting sound of the bridge pickup, the warmer, twangy sound of the neck pickup or a combination of both.
