While Epiphone are better known for their extensive range of guitars, more than a hundred years ago, its founder, Epi Stathopoulo was busy building mandolins and other stringed instruments in his workshop in Long Island. Backed by a wealth of mandolin-building history, this is the Epiphone MM-30S A-style mandolin. Finished with a classic set of f-holes, this model bears the same vibe as the first instruments ever produced by the house of Stathopoulo but comes built by modern quality and is offered at a less antique-style price. The 8 strings have a brilliant, balanced response framed by lush warmth and a bright, high-end sparkle, making this adaptable little instrument perfect for voicing anything from classical European folk to progressive '90s rock.
