Seiko: pure precision

The Seiko Holdings Corporation, Seiko for short, is a Japanese manufacturer known for timepieces and quartz watches, among other things. Founder Kintaro Hattori started a clock shop in Tokyo in 1881, after which he began manufacturing clocks under the name Seikosha (house of perfection). Seiko Instruments, for instance, makes tuning machines and metronomes with outstanding precision. No wonder then that Seiko is responsible for timekeeping at many major sporting events, including the Olympics and the World Cup.
