This metronome is driven by a wind-up mechanism, which means you don't need batteries to power it. Using the Wittner 832 Taktell Piccolo is easy: simply slide the weight on the pendulum to the desired tempo, give it a little push to get the mechanism started, and you'll hear a loud, clear tick. The available tempos are displayed on the metronome in beats per minute (BPM) and in traditional Italian terms (such as Allegro, Andante, Largo and Prestissimo), and the device offers a tempo range of 40 to 208 BPM. Once you're done playing, replace the metronome's cover to keep the mechanism safe.
