The SPL Channel One MK3 is a very complete tube channel strip. The preamp section is very special right from the start. In fact, the Channel One mk3 has two microphone inputs. With the mic A/B button on the front, you can switch between the two. This way, you can easily compare two microphones. The preamp of this Premium version features a Lundahl input and output transformer. This provides a slightly fuller low end with more punch. The reponse is a bit slower and rounder than the regular Channel One mk3. Use the 'Tube Saturation' knob to add some magical tube saturation. SPL manages to beautifully combine the best of vintage and modern technology.

You could think of the Channel One mk3 a bit like a Best-Of-SPL. That's because the preamp is succeeded by an impressive collection of innovative sound-shaping tools from SPL's stable. The De-Esser tames sharp sounds in a very transparent way. You can even choose from two frequency ranges here. The Transient Designer is another SPL invention. With it, you edit the dynamics of your signal in a completely different way than a compressor does. Make the attack and/or the extinction time of the notes stronger or weaker no matter how loud the notes are. Finally, you have a traditional compressor and eq at your disposal. Both very transparent and very easy to operate.
