General
Deciding what features to give a MIDI keyboard in the budget segment is not always easy. What to leave out and what to add in a market that is full of competition. With the 4Nano USB/MIDI keyboard, icon has made a trade-off that is very interesting. Whereas many MIDI keyboards only have a connector for a sustain pedal, this icon also allows you to connect an expression pedal. These days, everyone seems to be switching to USB, all the more interesting that this 4Nano also lets you work with the old DIN-MIDI. There is support for Mackie control and the Mackie HUI protocol, it shows a serious approach to studio work.

I have connections bugs every now and then which usually go away with a couple of restarts. The overall housing build and keys are solid, compact and good quality BUT keys feel a bit stiff and too hard to play which does make my wrist feel tired after a bit.
Compact and easy to move around. You would take it for the 37 keys and size of a good quality build, IF you do not care much about great play-ability.
