Nektar Impact GXP88 USB / MIDI Keyboard

Voor mij als beginnend producer en beginnend keyboard / piano speler is dit een perfect product gezien prijs kwaliteit verhouding. De toetsenaanslag is prima, lekker stevig. Het is een reusachtig apparaat, maar dat mag je ook verwachten met 88 toetsen. Hij werkt eigenlijk direct en Nektar is als bonus super goed met mijn DAW Bitwig te combineren. Werkt ook goed met de app Melodics, wat helpt bij leren spelen. Perfect gezien mijn niveau. Als ik over een jaar nog steeds lol heb en mooie skills heb ontwikkeld, kan ik altijd nog de stap maken naar een meer professioneel midiboard met graded hammer action.

Ik heb het bij Bax als B-Keuze gekocht voor een mooie prijs. Product was zelfs in betere staat als aangegeven in beschrijving. Echt top!

Na een eerste korte stint toen ie net uit was weer besteld om nog eens een second thought te geven. Echter nu weet ik weer wat niet zo OK was. Los van dat het toetsenmechaniek veel klappergeluiden maakt bij het loslaten van een toets, iets wat nog te vergeven is in deze prijsklasse, geven de zwarte toetsen een veel hogere velocity output bij dezelfde aanslagsterkte als de witte toetsen. Echt flink uit balans. Voor synth lijntjes niet het allergrootste probleem. Wil je er echter ook gebalanceerd EP of AP sounds op spelen dan wordt het lastig.De zwarte toetsen knallen er gewoon uit qua accenten. Zonde. Dit is in software en/of firmware best makkelijke te compenseren namelijk (door Nektar als ze zouden willen). Verder prima ding. Licht, goedkoop, best aardige aanslag, genoeg integratie met software, fijne pitch/mod wheels , werkende aftertouch. Beetje jammer van die oneven key respons.

Had de GXP88 al een tijdje op het oog. Na de (verlate) levering de (beschadigde) doos uitpakken en aan de gang!
Helaas, de GXP88 wordt niet herkend door mijn systeem. Dan in de andere PC pluggen; helaas, device not recognised. Nieuwe usb kabel dan maar, overige usb poorten, powered usb hub, keyboard reset, nieuwe bios flash PC, registry opschonen, niets, alleen windows fout code 29 & 43. Dan maar Win7 Ultimate opnieuw installeren; niets. Win10 er dan maar eens opzetten; niets.
Let wel, dit is een “USB Class Compliant” keyboard (no driver needed). Geweldig, maar niet heus.
Bax helpdesk dan maar. Die hebben die dag geen haast om een klant te helpen, dan maar retour.
GXP88 heeft een prettige aanslag, zonder geluid, dat dan weer wel.
