This mash-up of a MIDI keyboard and pad controller is built for spitting beats whether for hip-hop, EDM, or even modern prog rock productions. The Atom SQ has arrived. This collision of two worlds is essentially an instrument that yearns to be played and as such, only makes the beat and melody production workflow that much smoother. Since this slimline desktop unit doesn't bombard you with over-complex menus or configuration options, what does it do?

The Atom SQ: Creation Made Easy!

With the Atom SQ in your grubby mitts, you're essentially holding a complete music production tool. 32 touch sensitive, multi-coloured pads are lined up in a sequencer-style layout that not only serve as a set of drum pads or a sequencer, but as a 32-note keyboard. Next to that, the face of the Atom is fitted with a set of eight 'endless' encoders, has been loaded with a genuine arpeggiator and polyphonic aftertouch.

The Right Start with the Right Software

All of this sounds great, but you can't do anything with it if you don't have software. Not to worry, since Presonus have not only included a copy of their own brain-child, Studio One Artist, they've also kindly thrown in a copy of Ableton Live Lite, giving you the choice of two DAWs. As if that wasn't enough, two fat loop packs of samples and a custom kit for the Presonus Impact XT plug-in have also been thrown in.

Een erg fijne en betaalbare controller voor Studio One 5. Bijna alles werkte direct zonder in te stellen en helemaal fijn is dat je hem als (piano)keyboard kan gebruiken. Je kan dan een toonladder instellen en de pads passen zich aan. Geen last van valse noten!

It's a great midi controller with no doubts! I use it with ableton live and to let the daw detect it you have to upgrade it to the version 10.1.15 or over.
After that everything becomes easier!
