General
Samson are getting seriously involved in the world of controllers with the Graphite MD13. This highly complete MIDI controller has no fewer than 13 illuminated touch pads, 6 rotary knobs and a fader on board. The design of the MD13 is nice and clear, so that you won't hit the wrong buttons accidentally.
Simple and clear
The 13 touch pads can easily accessed and offers many options. Via mappings you can add various effects or parameters to the MD13. The Samson MD13 MIDI controller seems to be a serious competitor for Akai and Korg.
Tips or comments about this product- This controller is also compatible with the iPad. You'll need a separately available Camera Connection Kit (iPads with a 30-pin connector) or USB-Lightning adapter (iPads with Lightning connector).

Wrote the following about Samson Graphite MD13 MIDI controller
Dit product lijkt heel aardig, maar heeft jammergenoeg flink wat gebreken:
- De MD13 GraphiteMiniEditor software moet worden gebruikt om presets aan te passen. De eerste preset waarmee het apparaat altijd opstart, is ehter niet te wijzigen. Je hebt dus eigenlijk maar 4 editable presets en de opstartpreset kun je niet aanpassen.
- De Master Encoder is volgens de handleiding een continuous encoder. Dit is echter niet waar. Het blijkt een encoder die enkel regelbaar is tussen 0 en 127.
- De LED's van de individuele toetsen zijn niet aanstuurbaar. Ze lichten dus op als je de toets indrukt, maar een DAW kan de status niet wijzigen (bv als je een track on/off op een knop programmeert). Dit geldt ook voor de transport keys. Ze kunnen dus uit sync raken.
- de draaiknoppen aan de zijkant voelen fragiel aan.
