The You Rock Guitar YRG Gen2 is a 22-fret guitar with a detachable neck, an advanced MIDI controller, and an excellent extension for PS3 and Wii games. Guitarists will appreciate this compact instrument while they're playing and composing music parts and sheet music, but the YRG Gen2 also easily holds its own as a stand-alone device, thanks to a collection of quality built-in sounds. This second edition of the You Rock Guitar offers a number of great improvements with regards to firmware and effects, and also boasts a new pickup design.

Connectivity

The YRG Gen2's MIDI controller mode opens up a world of possibilities, thanks to seamless compatibility with iPad as well as Windows and Apple computers. DAWs like Logic, Reason and Ableton register the Your Rock Guitar as a controller, which makes it easy to play guitar parts, and it's also possible to control conventional MIDI synths via a 5-pin connector. Een hartstikke leuk apparaat om lekker ongestoord op de bank loopjes te oefenen. Goed voor je relatie, want zolang je gebruik maakt van de 'tap' functie, werk je alleen met je linkerhand en ben je onhoorbaar voor degene die naast je zit. Nu dus elke avond tijdens 'Goede tijden Slechte tijden' samen op de bank en toch oefenen!
De midi functie is hartstikke lekker in combinatie met Logic Pro X. Goeie snelle respons.
Nadeel: de aanslaggevoeligheid zoals je die tegenwoordig op elk keyboard hebt, ontbreekt. Dus: de toon die je speelt is 1 op 1 de toon die je hoort. Hooguit met de tremolo kun je nog iets doen maar weinig dynamiek. Al met al een aanrader, zeker voor dit geld.
