General

The You Rock Guitar YRG Gen2 is a 22-fret guitar with a detachable neck, an advanced MIDI controller, and an excellent extension for PS3 and Wii games. Guitarists will appreciate this compact instrument while they're playing and composing music parts and sheet music, but the YRG Gen2 also easily holds its own as a stand-alone device, thanks to a collection of quality built-in sounds. This second edition of the You Rock Guitar offers a number of great improvements with regards to firmware and effects, and also boasts a new pickup design.

Connectivity

The YRG Gen2's MIDI controller mode opens up a world of possibilities, thanks to seamless compatibility with iPad as well as Windows and Apple computers. DAWs like Logic, Reason and Ableton register the Your Rock Guitar as a controller, which makes it easy to play guitar parts, and it's also possible to control conventional MIDI synths via a 5-pin connector. Thanks to a whammy bar, a bridge mute and a modulation stick, the controller gives you outstanding expressive freedom.

Crossover

The YRG Gen2 bridges the gap between game controller and real guitar, and that makes this instrument quite special. If you're familiar with games like Rocksmith and RockBand, you'll really appreciate the functionality and feel of this You Rock Guitar. A separately available Gameflex cartridge enables you to establish a link to your Wii or Playstation 3 console. In stand-alone mode, the YRG Gen2 is powered by four AA batteries, but if you connect the instrument to your computer or console, it's powered via the USB cable.
