At a glance, the Nektar Pacer looks just like any standard guitar multi-effects board. But this is something different. Place this MIDI controller at your feet and gain remote control over the most essential functions of your DAW, using nothing but your feet, so you can keep your hands free for your trusty guitar. If your DAW happens to support MCU (Mackie Control Universal), you can also use the transport buttons of the Pacer - and, pretty much any DAW will support MCU. Of course, this smart pedal offers support for Nektar DAW integration, including Bitwig, Cubase, GarageBand, Logic, Nuendo, Reason, Reaper, and Studio One.
The Pure Potential of the Nektar Pacer
Of course, this pedal unit comes fitted with a MIDI out via DIN and another MIDI out via USB. What's really interesting is the set of other inputs and outputs: two standard expression pedal sockets, two for footswitches (with a maximum of four using a Y-splitter), and there are two relays (with a maximum of four using a Y-splitter) so you would even set this unit up to control your amplifiers, even if they're not MIDI capable. The Pacer is USB powered, but can also be powered by a power supply (9V/600mA, not included), provides space for custom presets, and Nektar have also been kind enough to load in presets for relevant models including Line6, Fractal Audio, Avid, Kemper, Elektron and Electro Harmonix.

Maar wanneer alles werkt zoals het werkt is het een superapparaat: gebouwd als een tank, switches reageren perfect. Ik gebruik het voor looping met een gitaar en om een synthesizer in mijn DAW aan te sturen om overheen te spelen op de gitaar. Voor beide doeleinden is het een super oplossing (al had een zevende switch onderaan niet misstaan).

C’est un excellent produit. Beaucoup de qualités. Pas besoin d’alimentation 220. Pédalier réactif et précis. Programmation élaborée et pratique... Je crois que presque tout est possible.

Reçu récemment, ce pédalier sera utilisé principalement pour piloter un Hélix LT (Line6) et une BeatBuddy (Achetés également chez Bax-Shop !).
La prise en main est délicate, doù létoile en moins, et personnellement, une programmation via un logiciel, donc sur PC, comme pour le Hélix, ma cruellement fait défaut ... Mais bon, on y arrive par tâtonnement, il faut y passer du temps, comprendre la logique interne de lappareil, et cest vrai quaux premiers abords, on a envie de retourner cet engin maléfique ... Quand on reçoit ce pédalier, la notice qui laccompagne est en anglais ...! Mais bon lorsquon enregistre son produit sur le site constructeur, on a accès au mode demploi en français ! Bien quutile, cette traduction ne résoudra pas tous vos problèmes, il vous faudra tout de même en suer pour pouvoir utiliser ce pédalier avec toutes ses possibilités... La notice est avare dexplications et le manque de tutoriels en français sont les gros points noirs pour ce contrôleur MIDI, vraiment dommage car ses possibilités sont vastes et appréciables ...
Résumé : ce pédalier est réservé aux utilisateurs plutôt chevronnés et patients ... Messieurs de chez Nektar, un mode demploi avec des étapes claires, bien détaillées, accompagnées de shémas serait un gros gros plus (Ex. : programmation de lallumage des Leds -> un petit casse-tête !!!) un bon tuto en français sur Youtube ne serait pas un luxe ...
Un bon appareil, bien construit, des switchs fonctionnels (Clics agréables, bien espacés, pas besoin de Santiags ultra-pointues !), une fois programmé, fait très bien son job en studio comme sur scène (Costaud et pas trop lourd), dommage que la prise en main soit si fastidieuse ....
