General

This type of Fender string guide is also called a string tree, and was first used in 1956 to replace the round model on the Stratocaster. Because the Stratocaster does not have an angled headstock as guitars from other makers do, these metal plates were used to press the strings downward for optimal nut pressure, preventing noise and humming, and keeping the strings in their slots. Prevent out of tune strings due to rusted string guides and buy a set of new Fender string guides!
