There are few things as annoying as a crackling output jack. No matter how good your guitar is, it's not going to sound good if the jack output isn't working correctly. Because they are used so often, they suffer from wear and tear quite regularly. Eventually, the damage becomes too much and the input no longer works as it should. Fortunately, finding a replacement part is not hard, and the Switchcraft EP0055 is an excellent choice. It's suitable for guitars with a 3.8” jack recess (also called a mounting hole) in the body. Switchcraft parts are well known for their excellent value for money and are often used in guitar upgrades.
