An excellent stand. Can also be used to support Handpans as the supports tilt. Interestingly, even on the lowest height setting the stand holds a standard conga at a perfect playing height for me. I am around 1.8m tall. Overall the stand is well built with plastic protectors fitted to any parts that hold whatever drum you wish to play. Being a tripod the stand would sit firmly on anything uneven, and there are rubber feet fitted to the legs.
Ultimately, they are not the cheapest single stand on the market but, in my opinion do offer great stability and comfort knowing your precious drum is held securely. The stand breaks down nicely for packing but would recommend buying or making a bag to keep all the bits together. Don’t forget to factor into the overall cost that multiple conga set ups require multiple stands which on a three conga set up means you could effectively buy a premium conga for the cost of three of these. From a Phycological point of view, I always find buying things like this one at a time helps to stop the buyers regret scenario and wishing money had been spent elsewhere. At the end of the day, stands are almost a necessary evil and not particularly ‘sexy’ of have the allure of a lovely new drum but they must be functional and do a sterling job which the Pearl stand delivers on in spades!
