Innox PB 60BK Piano Bench (Gloss Black)
An absolutely fabulous stool. I purchased one from Bax's competitor (Thomann) at around five years ago and was extremely happy with it. Being lazy, I decided to get another stool to save moving one from the piano to the other side of the room for my keyboards. After a little snooping I found this. It is cheaper than the Thomann stool, more comfortable, has a larger sitting surface, has more padding and looks amazing. I did have the Thomann one in my basket ready to purchase so feel lucky to have found this before placing an order.
Compared to the Thomann stool, it requires more dexterity to attach the legs as you have to rise the seat from the frame. Even then the supplied spanner can only be turned 1/8th as the handle is stopped by the underneath of the stool. The Thomann just uses a hex key so you can just keep turning it until tight. Even with this hindrance if I needed another stool would immediately purchase this Innox one. I am in fact considering replacing my Thomann stool with another of these just for the extra seating space.
If you are in the market for a new stool, you certainly cannot go wrong or get better at double the price. Roland produce a very similar one but at almost triple the price. Having used Roland products since the 1990's, I personally avoid the brand as their quality seems to deteriorate each year. Their arranger keyboards were excellent (the only brand to have a ritardando button) but by 2000 I stopped using anything Roland.
Once again I digress (ADD and dyslexia doesn't help) but am sure you will not find a better product anywhere. The comfort, look and smooth seat movement (up or down) makes it appear a much more expensive item and puts ones twice the price to shame. I have recommended it to friends (I previously steered people to Thomann's stool but not anymore).
