With the Klowra Leap Octave, you can give your guitar or synthesiser a new voice – or several at once! This compact digital effects pedal combines polyphonic octave processing with detune and a freeze function. Thanks to its fast, low-latency tracking, you can play both chords and single notes whilst maintaining a natural touch response. The original signal, the higher octave and the lower octave each have their own volume control, allowing you to mix in exactly the amount of effect you need. For example, go for the sparkle of a twelve-string guitar, a solid bass imitation or layered sounds reminiscent of an organ or synthesiser.

Three sound modes and lively detune

Using the TONE control and the central switch, you can determine how the Leap Octave colours your sound. In LP mode, you attenuate only the high frequencies of the higher octave, whilst HP mode filters out only the low frequencies from the lower octave. Your dry signal remains unaffected in both modes. If you select TILT, you’ll affect all three signals simultaneously: starting from the neutral centre position, you can make the overall sound brighter or darker. For added movement, use the DETUNE knob. The Clean, Shallow and Deep modes offer, respectively, an unprocessed starting point and two levels of detune, allowing you to give the octave sounds a floating, chorus-like character.

Freeze, external control and switchable bypass

Hold down the footswitch to use Freeze to hold a note as a continuous harmonic backdrop. You can then play over this with your guitar or synthesiser. This function can also be controlled using an external momentary TS footswitch via the 3.5 mm CTRL input; an adapter cable is included. Under the bonnet, Klowra’s WildSeed Engine features 32-bit floating-point DSP and 24-bit AD/DA conversion. You can choose between true bypass and buffered bypass, whilst the soft-touch relay switching ensures silent switching. Its compact size saves space on your pedalboard. The pedal also features a USB-C port for firmware updates and requires a 9 V DC power supply.
