General
The FSR American Vintage '72 Telecaster Thinline is a limited edition from Fender's Factory Special Run series. Those who are aware of the FSR series, know that it comprises one-time only editions of existing Fender models. In this case, it's the American Vintage '72 Telecaster Thinline. What makes this guitar extra special is that it is equipped with several modern upgrades and that it has a deep, high-gloss black lacquer finish. Its fretboard radius, for instance, has been made flatter (from 7.25 to 9.5 inches) and its little vintage frets have been replaced with high, narrow Dunlop 6105 frets. The FSR American Vintage '72 Telecaster Thinline is available in two (very limited) colours. Bax-shop has three of each, so don't miss out on the chance to get your hands on one of these beauties!
FSR American Vintage '72 Telecaster Thinline, authentic details
The American Vintage series gets you as close as you can to owning a classic Fender guitar without having to buy a pricy original or Custom Shop model. This guitar has all the authentic features of the Telecaster Thinline from 1972. From its partially hollow ash body and f-shaped sound hole, to its two fat Wide Range humbuckers and three-point neck mount with micro-tilt adjustment. Even the smallest details are accounted for with, for instance, the bullet-style truss-rod wrench, the F-style machine heads and the 'top hat' lever of the pickup switch. The taller frets and modern fretboard radius, make that this black FSR American Vintage '72 Telecaster Thinline plays like a guitar from the 21st century.
Versatile Fender Wide Range humbuckers
Fender have redesigned and revoiced its Wide Range humbucker pickups, after the sound of the original, especially for the FSR American Vintage '72 Telecaster Thinline. These two pickups produce a wide, rich, clean sound that is along the lines of that of single-coils, but with the warmth and output of humbuckers. This makes them excellently suited for virtually any type of music, from country, jazz and blues to modern rock and metal. The guitar's three-position pickup switch allows you to choose between the clear sound of the bridge pickup, the dark sound of the neck pickup or a combination of both. Lastly, you are provided with a master volume control and a tone knob to filter the high frequencies.
