This guitar from Fender's Modern Player series might just be one of the most affordable Stratocasters ever made. Because it was made in China, Fender managed to keep the price down, making it the perfect entry-level genuine Fender Strat. The Modern Player series is characterised by contemporary versions of several Fender classics, like this white electric guitar, modelled after the legendary Stratocaster. It has been fitted with several modern upgrades for maximum performance and playing comfort. Available in two colours, Silverburst and this Olympic White edition.

Features of the Fender Modern Player Stratocaster HSS

This Strat has an HSS pickup configuration with a humbucker in the bridge position and a single-coil in the middle and neck position, making it more versatile than a traditional Stratocaster. Single-coils are known for their clear, sparkling sound that is excellently suited for cleans and crunches. The humbucker, however, produces a full, fat sound and is better suited for rougher guitar playing such as solos and rock music. The Fender Modern Player Stratocaster is equipped with a master volume and two tone controls, one of which is a push/pull switch to switch from the humbucker to a single-coil.

Cut from the right stuff

The Fender Modern Player Stratocaster HSS is made from alder, a lightweight wood type that provides a rich sound with an excellent balance between bass, mids and trebles. The vintage-tint neck is made from maple (true to Fender tradition) with a rosewood fretboard and has also received a modern makeover with 22 wide and high jumbo frets and a flatter 9.5 inch radius for more playing comfort. The guitar features smooth vintage-style tuners and tremolo bridge and a 3-layer black pickguard. It proudly brandishes the Fender spaghetti logo on its headstock.
