The Tim Armstrong Hellcat is one of Fender's most popular signature guitars ever. Tim Armstrong requested that Fender make a 12-string edition, of which this is the left-handed version. The Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat-12 LH is an electro-acoustic guitar that was modelled after Armstrong's trusted companion: a worn-down classic Fender from the '60s, on which he wrote all of his songs for his band Rancid. A great instrument for the serious starting guitarist.
The Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat-12 LH: amplified and acoustic
Fender made the Tim Armstrong Hellcat-12 LH out of mahogany, a wood type that has a beautiful red-brown colour and a warm, yet clear sound. This guitar has a solid top, providing a powerful sound. Combined with the twelve sparkling steel strings and the more compact concert-size body, it produces a rich, neat and strong sound. When amplified, the sound of this guitar is accurately adjustable with the Fishman Isys III preamp's volume and tone control.
The look
You can tell that Fender put some careful work into the design of this electro-acoustic guitar. Its beautiful brown body with its elegant curves features a stunning rosette and a red tortoise pickguard. The fretboard has Hellcat position markers, double skulls next to the 12th fret and the headstock brandishes Armstrong's signature. The neck and body were given cream-coloured bindings. The package includes a Tim Armstrong guitar strap.

Eindelijk een betaalbare LINKSHANDIGE elektrisch-akoestische gitaar, 12-snarig zelfs, die meteen, na stemmen, vanuit de doos bespeelbaar is.
Geen basic stiefkindmodelletje voor Oh ja, dat groepje linkshandigen is er ook nog.
Dankjewel Tim Armstrong, dankjewel Fender!
Prachtige gitaar om te zien, en een zeer fijne gitaar om te spelen. Geen scherpe fretrandjes, alles keurig afgewerkt.
Hals ligt prettig in de hand, actie is lekker laag (Snaren liggen zo laag mogelijk op de hals zonder aan te lopen of te ratelen).
Hoef eindelijk zelf eens niet meteen te gaan knutselen aan een nieuwe gitaar, om hem helemaal naar mijn hand te zetten.
Fender is ook de enige gitaarfabrikant die bij akoestische gitaren aan beide zijden van de klankkast standaard een draagriemknop heeft.
Geen gepiel dus met een schoenveter aan de kop van je gitaar, waar hij vaak nog in de weg zit ook; boormachine kan in de hobbyschuur blijven.
Daarbij nog een ingebouwde, goed functionerende tuner en voorversterker.
Er zit een Fender Dura-tone coated 880CL-12 (0.10-0.50) snarenset op deze gitaar.
Deze snaren spelen erg soepel en licht; dit in combinatie met de lage actie zorgt er voor dat ik na een uur spelen geen pijnlijke vingertoppen heb.
Ik ben een verstokte 009 gebruiker op mn elektrische gitaren, maar voor deze Fender Hell Cat zal ik zeer zeker de 0.10 Dura-tone set blijven gebruiken.
De gitaar heeft een mooie, volle en heldere, sprankelende klank, en blijft goed gestemd.
Ik speel nu 5 maanden op deze gitaar, en ben er zeer tevreden mee.
