General
The AW-2G is a clip-on chromatic tuner that is specifically designed for tuning guitars. Thanks to the special double hinge connection between the display and clamp, the AW2G’s display can be tilted and turned in almost any direction, making it readable in most circumstances. The AW2G’s display is equipped with a back light, so that darkened rooms do not pose any problem. There are three illumination modes, that can be selected in accordance with the amount of light in the room: Off (no backlighting), Soft (soft back lighting) and Auto (bright back lighting). The Auto mode switches to Soft mode when no sound is registered for ten seconds. This increases battery life.
The AW-2G is equipped with a guitar clamp that has been specifically designed for instruments with an incorporated flat surface (like the head of a guitar). The clamp can be adjusted to the thickness of the surface to which it’s clamped onto. The display can be moved to either side of the clamp so that you can hide tuner behind the neck of your guitar, making it invisible for the audience. If you use the AW2G in a vertical position, you can apply the Meter Reverse function, which means that the high and low end of the meter will change their places to suit the position of the tuner relative to the guitar.
Despite the light weight and small size of the AW2G, it has a wide tuner range that goes from A0 to C8. It also has an inbuilt piezo element, that registers vibrations and assures you of clear and stable tuning in noisy environments. It is also possible to use the internal microphone to tune other acoustic instruments. For musicians in big bands, orchestras and other ensembles, the possibility to tune to each other’s instruments in major and minor thirds, has been added. In this manner you are assured of harmonious performances!
The AW2G is powered by a lithium battery and when the back light is switched off, this battery can last up to 150 hours. Other functions of the AW2G are the adjustable calibration frequency, auto power-off and memory backup.
