Would you like to have the best of both worlds? This all-in-one controller/mixer allows you to work digitally, without excluding the analogue option. Not only can the Numark N4 be used both as a controller for your software, it also serves as a mixer that works with or without a computer. It’s ideal for DJs who occasionally like to play some classics on vinyl!
The Numark N4 has a fully digital setup, which, in combination with Virtual DJ, supports no less than four decks - enough for any creative DJ to make problem-free, multi-deck mixes. Would you like throw some of your CDs or vinyl records into the mix? Simply add a tabletop CD player or turntable to your setup. The N4 even allows you to work with timecode vinyl, provided that you make a software upgrade to the required version of Virtual DJ.
The N4 is principally a MIDI controller and as such, it features two sizeable jog wheels, reminiscent of those of the NS6 and the NS7. Like many others brands, Numark has once again started to develop budget products: affordable, less flashy solutions for DJs who want to get started right now instead of saving up for years first. The N4 features a high-quality, built-in audio interface that allows you to connect the system to a speaker set, and which also makes it easy to plug in headphones and other peripherals.
With the N4, Numark has issued a great, diverse controller for a fair price. It's the perfect device for starting DJs who want to buy a nice system, but don’t have the means to go completely overboard financially, especially if they also have to afford other equipment such as speakers. In essence, the N4 is a plug-and-play party system that's ideal for home practise (by simply adding some DJ monitors), or for various types of parties (by adding a larger speaker setup). In short, you can go either way with this versatile controller/mixer!
