The Roland F-120R is a highly complete and beautifully slim digital piano, which is a great practice instrument for beginners. It is based on the F-120, but comes equipped with a number of remarkable extras. The R in its name stands for Rhythm, so it is no surprise that, in addition to its 40 sounds, it features sixty backing rhythms. It is possible to connect a USB stick in order to load more backing files, as well as songs and even WAV files. This edition features a stylish, polished red finish.

The F-120R: SuperNATURAL and Progressive Hammer Action

Like the F-120, the F120R uses the renowned SuperNATURAL system for its sound source. SuperNATURAL imitates the sound of the world's best grand pianos in minute detail. Each note has its own distinctive character and decays in a realistic way, while the timbre subtly and fluently (steplessly) changes with the force of your strokes. To accommodate your fingers as well, the Progressive Hammer Action system increases the resistance of the keys when you apply more force, while the Escapement provides the keys with the characteristic 'click' of a grand piano. Even the pedals, which create an audible difference between half-way pressed and fully pressed, respond like those of a real piano.

A highly complete practice instrument

The compact casing of the F-120R has a depth of only 30 cm, but houses a great deal of functionality. The built-in backing styles are capable of following your chords accurately. Select the Pianist mode and you won't even have to adapt your playing style, as the piano registers your chords over the entire length of the keyboard! While you are practising, you can also use the internal metronome, the Twin Piano function (which divides the keyboard into two equal parts) and the simple recorder. The piano is also fitted with MIDI connectors, enabling you to record your MIDI creations with your PC or Mac by means of a sequencer.
