Since few things are more aggravating than having to replace a dead battery in the middle of a recording, Zoom present the BCF-8 battery case for the F4, F8 and F8N multi-track recorders. Designed to be loaded with eight AA batteries, the whole thing is simply slotted into the recorder where it serves as a backup power supply that automatically kicks in when the battery of your Zoom multi-track recorder is about to run out.
