General

The Recording King MG10E is specially made for live and recording applications. It is a genuine metal resonator guitar with a built-in piezo pickup by renowned pickup maker Fishman. The MG10E was modelled after the original resonators by National. The characteristic sound of these guitars comes from the vibration of the special metal cone in the body, also known as the resonator. The result is a loud, clear, metallic sound that made its claim to fame in the hands of the American delta blues slide guitarists in the '30s. It is a sound that is also often associated with traditional bluegrass music. You can have it all at an affordable price, thanks to Recording King's MG10E chrome resonator guitar.

Recording King MG10E: original Continental cone

The MG10E has a fully metal body made of high-quality brass, and it is beautifully adorned with two f-style sound holes and a marvellous reflective chrome finish. The heart of the MG10E is its 9.5-inch, hand-spun cone by top brand Continental. This part of this guitar is called theresonator, and it's responsible for producing characteristically loud projection and excellent intonation. A round cover plate adorned with diamond-pattern holes is fitted to protect the cone.

Comfortable round-neck resonator guitar

Contrary to a square neck resonator guitar, which you play on your lap or on a table, the MG10E's round neck allows you to comfortably play while standing up, just like you would a regular guitar. The neck is made of Honduran mahogany, a rare, popular type of wood for making instruments. It gives the guitar a beautifully sweet sound. The bridge, meanwhile, is made of hard maple to allow for tight, bright notes. Moreover, there is a special support that covers the bridge and strings, so that you can rest your hand on your instrument without muting the strings. Lastly, the Recording King MG10E is fitted with high-quality Gotoh self-lubricating tuners, a bone string nut and a rugged vintage-style logo on the headstock.
