General

Maxon expands its Vintage Series with the AD-999 Pro Analog Delay. The AD-999 Pro combines the popular Maxon AD-999 and AD-9 Pro delay pedals into one compact housing. Thanks to eight custom-made Maxon MC4107D Bucket Brigade ICs, you get the characteristic warm and fat delay of an analogue delay pedal. With the new multi-head switches, it's possible to add feedback loops to the existing delay signal. In this way, you can create beautiful polyrythmic repeats or lush reverbs.

Maxon AD-999 Pro: operation and application

On top of the pedal are three knobs, delay time (for adjusting the delay time), feedback (for adjusting the number of echoes) and delay level (for adjusting the effect volume). Underneath the knobs are three multi-delay switches with which you can send the delay signals through the delay again for a tape echo simulation. The Maxon AD-999 Pro is delivered with a 9V adapter for stable and reliable power. A low noise mechanical 4PDT switch ensures noiseless true bypass. There are stereo (wet/dry) outputs and the AD-999 Pro can be plugged in to the front of an amplifier or via the FX loop.

Noiseless analog sound

Just like the AD-9 Pro, the Maxon AD-999 uses noise reduction without compromising the signal. With a dynamic range that is 18 dB higher than most other delay pedals, and a minimum input level of 12 dB, the AD-999 Pro can be used for virtually any sound source, from guitar to bass to keyboard. This improved full-range response results in a powerful sound with excellent balance between the highs and lows. This gives the delay effect a clear and transparent, yet authentically warm, analogue sound.
