General
In the form of the Sunlight stompbox, Old Blood Noise Endeavors have combined an exquisite reverb with the 'dynamic hold' concept. Essentially a reverb/freeze effect, where the Decay pot can be fully opened up to give a single note infinite sustain, this pedal takes some surprising little twists. The moment that the following note is played, the previous note can be released, so that the current note is sustained - even when you stop holding the note. In other words, the Sunlight leads on from where the OBNE Dark Star left off. This incomparable, USA-built reverb pedal is backed up by soft-touch switches and true-relay-bypass.
The Sunlight Dynamic Freeze Reverb: Three Modes
Besides a bank of intuitive control pots, the face of the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Sunlight has been fitted with a three-way mini-switch that toggles through Tape, Comb, and Pass modes. This switch flips the effect from a quivering vibrato to a resonant delay or sticks it through a randomised step-filter. Using the Rate and Depth controls, the result can be carved into shape, and the Mix pot adjusts the balance between the dry and wet signals. But that's far from everything that this pedal has on offer, since the Alt switch on the left can function as either a momentary or latching switch so that settings can be seamlessly yet briefly triggered, and an expression pedal can be plugged in for real-time control over the various parameters.
