The Ibanez SR1405T-VNF belongs to Ibanez's Premium series and definitely lives up to that title. This bass guitar is beautifully finished and made with gorgeous wood types that clearly influence the sound of this bass. This means that you'll get your hands on a modern-sounding bass with lots of definition and sustain and above all, a warm base with a tight-sounding low end. That great sound is then passed on to the active electronics by means of Nordstrand pickups. Finally, you can make the final touch with the 3-part tone control to perfect your favourite sound. This SR1405T-VNF is fitted with five strings.
The Nordstrand pickups have an important part to play
These Big Singles are single-coil pickups in soapbar size and produce a full, powerful sound with an aggressive edge. Nevertheless, they still maintain that typical single-coil clarity. The EQBIIISC 3-band tone control and the preamps, that have been designed specifically for the Nordstrand pickups, allow for a pure and wide frequency response. You can choose whether the mid switch controls 250 Hz or 600 Hz. All of these features together make this SR1405T-VNF bass by Ibanez a versatile, high-quality instrument that can take on any music genre.
The sound of these wood types
Mahogany is a type of wood that produces a warm sound while the delicate grain of this red-brown wood provides endless sustain. It's good to know that the body of this SR1405T-VNF consists of two parts of mahogany. This body has a top made of beautifully figured maple which makes for a lot of clarity in terms of tone and is very appealing to the eye. The neck of this SR1405T-VNF is constructed of three parts wenge and two parts bubinga wood. These wood types do not only make the neck more stable, they also contribute to the sound of this instrument. Wenge provides clear mid tones and is highly responsive, while the bubinga wood also contributes to the clear mid area but takes cares of a fat, well-defined low end as well.
