In their Vintage Modified series, Squier features this rarely seen 6-string instrument with Jaguar-like body, the Bass VI Baritone guitar. This 6-string instrument with Jaguar-type body originated in the sixties and stands between a guitar and bass guitar. Its strings can be tuned one octave lower than those on a normal guitar, providing you with a bass guitar tuning with an exceptionally high treble range. An elevated tuning with thinner strings turns this Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI into a baritone guitar.
Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI Black: Custom Jaguar pickups
This new edition of a classic Fender guitar is equipped with three pickups. Near the bridge of the Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI we find a Custom Jaguar single-coil pickup, characterised by crystal clear cleans, but is also capable of producing simple, rich sounds. The Custom Jaguar single-coil pickups are also found at the neck and middle position, and the middle pickup is reverse-wound with reverse-polarity to eliminate unwanted noise. In addition to versatile sounds, this Vintage Modified Bass VI is equipped with a floating tremolo, Jazz Bass knobs and a white pickguard.
Famous artists that have used the baritone guitar include the Beatles, Cream, the Cure and the Black Keys.
