Squier now also caters to the fans of slap king Marcus Miller; the Vintage Modified Jazz Bass 70s bears a striking resemblance to Miller's instrument. This four-string bass guitar has a soft maple body and a (normal) mahogany C-shape neck with ditto fretboard and 20 medium jumbo frets. It sports striking black block inlays, spread along the fretboard, as well as black bindings.
Vintage Modified Jazz Bass 70s
This bass is no stranger to a good round of slapping and thanks to its two single-coils (a characteristic Jazz Bass feature) it provides you with a warm sound that is rich in mids and harmonic trebles. This is what separates the J-Bass from the P-Bass, whose split coil produces a more basic bass sound. This '70s Jazz Bass is equipped with chrome hardware and a black pickguard. It is an affordable, reliable alternative to the much costlier Fender Miller signature bass guitar or other vintage-oriented premium instruments.
The Squier brand
The Stratocaster and Telecaster electric guitars and Precision bass guitars are Fender's best known models and have been copied by many manufacturers in different price ranges. In order to be able to provide a reliable and attractive alternative for beginners, Fender started their subsidiary Squier in 1982. Squier guitars and bass guitars are built according to specifications made by, and under supervision of Fender.
