General

Meinl delivers an exotic instrument from the Caribbean with the MTA1SNT-M. This 11-inch tambora originates from the Dominican Republic and is used in Latin American music styles. In the well-known Merengue, the sound of the tambora can be heard frequently. Meinl has fitted the rubberwood shell with two True Skin buffalo skins. Traditionally, the basic rhythm is played with a flat hand on the lower skin. Various accents are played on both the batter sheet and the kettle rim with the included sticks. The sound of the tambora is similar to that of a conga but slightly higher. Slaps and other effects are also excellent on the MTA1SNT-M.

Meinl MTA1SNT-M: very complete

The rubberwood shell is finished in a matt brown lacquer. The percussion head is somewhat similar to a congavel and on the tension rim you can play various accents. The powder-coated hardware has been given a black finish. Meinl supplies a complete set including shoulder strap, sticks and a tuning spanner. Excellent for the advanced percussionist and essential in Merengue music.
