Set the beat for the entire samba band with the Meinl SU18 surdo. This 18 x 22-inch surdo features a synthetic percussion head with slight damping. Deliver dull full bass strokes to set the tempo of the music. Meinl has made the shell of the SU18 out of aluminium, which ensures good sound projection. In addition, aluminium is very lightweight which makes this surdo suitable for samba performances.
Meinl SU18: countersunk tensioning bolts
All tensioning bolts are fully countersunk which ensures high playing comfort. The rim of the kettle is embossed which provides an attractive appearance. The Meinl logo can be found on both the shell and the batter. With the included tuning key, you can adjust the tension on the drumhead to your liking. Three different sizes of surdo are usually used in samba music. This 18-inch surdo can be used as the smallest surdo and is excellent for faster parts.
