With the SUB22, Meinl delivers a high-quality Bahia surdo. The design of this surdo comes from the Brazilian province of Bahia. In this region, surdo's are equipped with less deep kettles, giving you more freedom of movement while playing. The SUB22 surdo has a field diameter of 22 inches and a shell depth of 18 inches. The shell is made of aluminium, giving this surdo good projection. Suitable especially for samba reggae and supplied with tuning key.

You can carry this compact surdo extra low, giving you more freedom of movement. Thanks to the aluminium used, the SUB22 is also extra lightweight. You can also integrate this surdo into a surdo set-up with several surdos. This allows you to play a variety of sounds during all your performances. The black coloured striking surface ensures good stick response and a slightly muted sound. All tension bolts are fully recessed so you will not be hindered while playing. Excellent for use in samba-reggae music styles.
