The timbau or timbal is frequently used in Brazilian music styles. With the TIM1435AB-M, Meinl delivers a solid 14-inch timbau made of poplar wood. Traditionally, timbau are used in samba parades and worn on a belt. Thanks to the sturdy metal eyelets, it is possible to place the timbau on a belt and integrate the instrument into a samba procession. In samba styles from the North East of Brazil, you will encounter this instrument most often. Playing comfort is high thanks to the rounded bowl rim. The poplar wood used not only ensures a universal sound but also definitely an extra light weight. An excellent drum for all your samba performances featuring the dark brown African Brown finish.
