The timbau or timbal is frequently used in Brazilian music styles. With the TIM1435AB-M, Meinl delivers a solid 14-inch timbau made of poplar wood. Traditionally, timbau are used in samba parades and worn on a belt. Thanks to the sturdy metal eyelets, it is possible to place the timbau on a belt and integrate the instrument into a samba procession. In samba styles from the North East of Brazil, you will encounter this instrument most often. Playing comfort is high thanks to the rounded bowl rim.
