General
To celebrate 150 years in the business, Epiphone drop a very special selection of limited edition models, each based on some of their most legendary offerings, including the semi-acoustic Zephyr DeLuxe Regent archtop. In the late forties and well into the fifties, the original Zephyr did battle with Gibson's now-iconic archtops (Gibson now being Epiphone's mother company), and since this model mimics the OG from every possible angle, the Zephyr DeLuxe Regent Blondeburst retains the same quality of tone as well as the aesthetics. But since this is a modern take on the classic, it also features some welcome construction upgrades and, to really sweeten the deal, the Epiphone 150th Anniversary Zephyr DeLuxe semi-acoustic guitar comes complete with a matching 150th Anniversary Historic Hardshell Case.
The Epiphone 150th Anniversary Zephyr DeLuxe Regent: Impressively Big & Authentic
The considerable, full-sized body of this semi-acoustic guitar has been built entirely from layered maple, while the set-in five-piece neck has been made from mahogany and maple before being topped with a high-grade ebony fretboard and finished with Historic Epiphone Cloud inlay work, while the headstock comes adorned with a period-correct Tree of Life inlay and fifties Epiphone logo. When it comes to the sound, this model performs just as beautifully as it looks, thanks to an impressive two-piece set of Epiphone NY Mini Humbuckers, a three-way switch and a pack of high-quality CTS pots per pickup. Polishing everything off with sublime comfort, the medium-C neck profile supports supple chord grabs and licks all the way up to the body.
