Epiphone present the ES Collection E-335: a more affordable version of the legendary ES-335 semi-acoustic guitar built by parent company Gibson, packed with various welcome upgrades. The semi-hollow maple body shapes that much-loved airy foundation while the C-profile mahogany neck gives this model a trusted, familiar feel. Amplified by two Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers the sound of this electro-acoustic thinline spans an array of tonal colours.
The Inspired By Gibson ES-335: CTS Pots, a GraphTech NuBone nut and LockTone Hardware
The electronics section of the slimmed down ES-335 has been loaded with genuine CTS pots while a set of Grover machine heads has been teamed up with a Graptech NuBone nut and Epiphone's own LockTone bridge and tailpiece to support pure intonation and stable tuning. Topped with the classic charm of a Kalamazoo headstock, this instrument bears distinct Epiphone style.

De Alnico Pro PAF-style pickups klinken erg goed, de hollowbody geeft een diepte en warmte aan de klanken en heeft fantastische sustain. Daarnaast speelt het ook erg comfortabel dankzij de grotere body. De gitaar vereist wel een kleine set-up. Bij het uitpakken was de action nogal hoog rond de 12e snaar en er zaten wat onaangename kleine krasjes aan de onderkant in de lengte van het fretboard op de frets en de binding. Ook is Indisch Laurier kurkdroog en zou wat conditioning (zoals lemon oil of iets vergelijkbaars) enorm helpen. Buiten dat om heeft de gitaar misschien niet de meest luxe uitstraling t.o.v. de wat duurdere modellen maar dat maakt het weer goed met hoe prettig het speelt (en kost).
