The Riviera returns! This legendary semi-acoustic thinline originally built in the '60s by Epiphone offers familiar tone and feel with the addition of a few welcome upgrades. For a broad range of focused double-coil sounds, this modern iteration on the classic Riviera comes with two PRO Mini Humbuckers and the usual electronics lay-out including real CTS potentiometers. In addition, the comfortable C-profile neck is now accompanied by a GraphTech NubBone string nut, which together with the stability of the LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge takes care of solid tuning and intonation. It goes without saying that style-accurate features such as vintage machine heads, a scratchplate boasting the famous E-logo and the Frequensator tailpiece are once again part of the build of this electric Epiphone ES made for blues, indie-rock, fusion and much more.

Prachtige kleur en ook prachtige afgewerkt maar kurkdroog lijkt wel birdseye fretboard.
Tijdens inspelen met Gibson snaren (!?) begint alles te trillen en rammelen eerste indruk is dan ook terug ermee maar nee.
Nieuwe Ernie Mighty Slinky snaren erop en fretboard diep geolied met Fender CS olie.
Hals wat relief gegeven. De boel geïntoneerd. Pickups op juiste hoogte gezet. Prachtige Pro mini humbuckers overigens.
Ineens komt de prachtige compositie van hout metaal en elektronica tot leven…
Fantastische gitaar voor jaren te komen. Geef haar de aandacht die ze verdient en ze geeft het terug!

Mooie sustain en warme klank, meer gevarieerd dan je standaard bij een semi-hollow body zou verwachten. Technisch prima gitaar (volume, toon, stemmechaniek, etc).
Ligt prima in de hand, hals & body worden één met de speler.
Ook visueel een plezier. Bij minder licht wordt de kleur diep wijnrood, bij wat meer licht wat feller - een fijne schakering.
Enig minpuntje: de gitaar komt niet perfect afgesteld. Een beetje prutswerk nodig om de hals recht te zetten, de actie van de brug wat te verlagen en de fijnstelling van enkele snaren te regelen. Maar dat is niet onoverkomelijk.
Heel blij met deze nieuwe aanwinst - hij leverde me op een tweetal weken al dagelijks speelplezier.
