General

The AF-75 is an affordable semi-acoustic guitar from Ibanez's Artcore series that's ideal for beginning guitarists. This stylish hollow-body model has a classic Black Flat lacquer and white bindings. It's suitable for a variety of music genres including jazz, blues and rock n' roll. With Sure Grip knobs on the potentiometers, you'll have maximum control over your guitar sounds.

Ibanez AF75: bridge, tailpiece and acoustic sound

The AF75 has an excellent acoustic sound with plenty of presence and warm accents thanks to its maple body, mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard. The ART-1 bridge has a lovely VT60 tailpiece that together ensure accurate intonation and a long sustain.

Humbuckers, neck and fretboard radius

This semi-acoustic is equipped with two Ibanez Classic Elite humbucker ceramic pickups that deliver a rich, full sound with just the right amount of definition to pick up the subtle nuances in your playing. The 12-inch fretboard radius, 24.75-inch scale length and thin Artcore neck offer a smooth playing experience and make fast-fingered riffs easy to play too.

Ibanez AF75G Artcore Black Flat

Grabbed a B-stock one of these for a bargain but was unimpressed. I can’t comment on the tone at all because I didn’t get as far as plugging it in. The narrow fretboard made it virtually unplayable for me and as a whole the guitar felt cheap, the control knobs and tailpiece especially. With a bit of setting up and some good quality strings I think most would be happy with it but the strings were just too tightly spaced for me to persevere. Returned almost immediately.

Not a big jazz box but a medium sized mid priced semi-acoustic guitar that punches above it's weight. It has a retro look and feel with good acoustic tone & volume unlike some semi-acoustics. I think the all maple body has something to to with this. Even better when plugged in with plenty of volume and tonal variation with the acoustic sound carrying through. The neck is slim with a nice easy action. I had to tune it out of the box as you would expect but the intonation was dead on and the string height just right. I think it's an ideal instrument for jazz, blues or early rock and rockabilly. It has round wound strings and the tone controls can be set to make it Bassey or an edgy treble but probably not suitable for hard rock or metal. Probably, jazz guitarists, may prefer to change the strings to tape wounds. I am very pleased with it.
