General
Schlagwerk is known for their sometimes wacky instruments, and the SK12 Havanna Shaker Short is definitely one of them. This is because the outside of this double shaker is made of two aluminium cigar tubes. These are normally made in Germany to be shipped to Cuba, but Schlagwerk buys them for this instrument. The two shakers are attached to each other thanks to a rubber elastic band, but can therefore also be played separately. The filling of the two cigar tubes are precisely matched, giving them exactly the same tone. All in all, this is a good, versatile shaker for when you need subtle sound effects.
