The Tama Starclassic Maple line-up includes some ultra-adaptable drums that can slot seamlessly into any setup and this solid four-piece is no exception. The Tama Starclassic MA42TZUS shell set has a standard rock configuration, so you're getting a 22 inch by 16 inch kick, a 10 inch by 7 inch and 12 inch by 8 inch rack tom, and a 16 inch by 16 inch floor tom. Each shell has been given a Flat Black paint job and, as an added bonus, mounted with smoked-black nickel-plated hardware to complete a more unique Starclassic look.

The Tama Starclassic Maple MA42TZUS: Flexible Sound

When it comes to the sound, these shells supports flexible tuning and an all-round response. The use of maple has a lot to do with it, shaping immediately recognisable, timeless clarity and increased projection, while the deeper-than-average shell dimensions thicken up the punch. The bass drum shell has an eight-ply construction to complete a 7mm-thick profile, and each tom shell has a slightly thinner five-ply construction for a 5mm-thick profile. To finish off the pack, Tama has included a set of Evans drumheads; fitted every shell with Die-Cast hoops; and kitted out the toms with the Star-Cast mounting system and Quick-Lock brackets.
